A Twist On Pasta Salad

1-1 /4 cups uncooked tricolor spiral pasta
1/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth or vegetable broth 3 tbsps. red wine vinegar
1 tbsp. canola oil
1 garlic clove, minced 1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dried basil 1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups broccoli florets
1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
1 large sweet red pepper, julienned 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


• Cook the pasta following the package instructions, then wash under cold water and let it drain. Whisk the salt, basil, sugar, garlic, oil, vinegar and broth together in a big bowl. Add Parmesan, pepper, tomatoes, broccoli and pasta, then toss until coated.
